In mid October the following announcement was made at rehearsal: “I am sorry to have to announce that Colin Ivory is standing down as Chairman of the choir and will no longer be singing with us. Colin’s reasons are personal and not the result of any issue with the committee or choir members. A great deal has been achieved during Colin’s chairmanship and he will be missed as a committee member and chorister. He will remain a supporter of the choir and hopefully we will see him at future events. Our Vice-Chairman Barry Crawford will take over as Chairman through to the next AGM. A few weeks ago there was a reorganisation of the Finance Group. John Stack has taken over as Treasurer with overall responsibility for the Group, Mo Coles continues to manage all the day to day finances and Tony Greer is the choir accountant. We believe that this achieves a better distribution of responsibilities and workload, and should ensure effective financial control.” I am also pleased to announce that Tony Rolph has agreed to undertake the role of Independent Examiner for the 2008/2009 financial year accounts, a position John Stack had to relinquish on becoming Treasurer. The position of Vice-Chairman will remain vacant until the next AGM, when all positions will be up for review as usual.
