Membership and Uniforms

Membership  to the choir is a three step process:

  1. Trial :  This is flexible  period, during which applicants decide if they wish to progress into full membership after consultation with their section leaders and the Musical Director.  During this time no subscriptions are payable.  At the end of the Trial Period, successful applicants are  invited to progress to the become  Probationers.
  2. Probation :  At this stage applicants prepare to participate in concerts.  This will require learning music to performance standard without music copies.  This period varies and performance at concerts will be at the discretion of the Section Leader and Musical Director.  On becoming a Probationer, half rate subscription are payable quarterly.  E.g. if the full rate subscription is £90 per annum, the probationer rate is £11.25 per quarter.  During this period, the choir uniform will need to be purchased in preparation for concerts.
  3. Full Membership : When the applicant has completed the Probation period, he will be invited to participate in concerts.  After appearing in his first concert, the probationer is then welcomed into full membership. Full subscriptions will then be payable at the beginning of the quarter following the first concert.  Subscriptions can be made quarterly by bankers standing  order (form available from choir website or from the Treasurer) or as a lump sum.
