Believed to be the largest male voice choir in the eastern region, Leigh Orpheus welcomes you to its website.

Based near Southend on Sea in Essex, Leigh Orpheus is a friendly choir aiming to bring the joy of singing as a performer to men in the area. They also aim to bring the joy of listening to as many people as possible. They perform many concerts locally and further afield. The choir has recently sung in South Wales, Spain and Tuscany. In  2009 they performed in a sell-out concert at the Cliffs Pavilion, Southend on Sea with special guest, Aled Jones and also joined with massed choirs totaling 500 voices in Birmingham Symphony Hall and Cardiff St. David's Hall for Anglo/Welsh concerts. Earlier this year had a successful concert at the Cliffs Pavilion with Alfie Boe. Earlier this year, they completed a very successful concert tour in Paris. A highlight in the new year will be a Celebrity Concert with special guest Lee Mead.

The choir may be big, but it still welcomes applications for new members. They'd love to hear from men whether they've sung before or not. Professional training is given; the musical director is highly skilled in taking ordinary blokes and turning them into a decent choir. Audition the choir! »
