Concert Manager's Newsletter
Martin Wood - Concert Manager
25th February 2009
Hello Everyone, What a tremendous start we have had to 2009. It is still February and we have already had a full house at the “Cliffs Pavilion” with Aled Jones, our usual highly entertaining evening with David Tudor at St Nicholas, Canvey, and a wonderful afternoon at the “Royal Festival Hall” where we performed a one hour concert in the “Clore Ballroom”, With the two 500 voice concerts in Birmingham and Cardiff to look forward to later in the year, I am sure that during this year the choir will continue to go from strength to strength. As I write this newsletter to you we are just about to record a new CD which is the first for a few years. This should be available in April or May. As always we are extremely grateful for your continuing support and I would like to draw your attention to some forthcoming concerts:- Saturday 14th March we shall be performing at our home venue the Salvation Army Temple in Hadleigh where we will be joined by the wonderful “Morriston Ladies Choir” from Swansea. They are without doubt one of the finest Ladies choirs in the UK and it will be an evening to savour. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. with doors open at 6:30 p.m. Saturday 28th March the LOMVC will be the guests of Southend Wind Orchestra at St Margarets Church, Lime Avenue, Leigh on Sea at 7:30 p.m. where we will both be performing our own sets and coming together for a couple of joint items, On Thursday 9th April the choir will be performing a concert in the Atrium of South East Essex College (SEEC) in Southend where all profits are going to help children in Sri Lanka still struggling after the Tsunami of Boxing Day 2006. This concert will begin at the earlier time of 6:00 p.m. and details of all of our forthcoming events can be found on our website at www.lomvc.org All of the team at LOMVC wish you all continued health and happiness and very much hope that we will see you all during the course of the year.
